I’m writing as a former student of Total Driver, and would like to fully endorse them in both excellence of driver training, and commitment to running a company determined to create the best possible outcomes of their students. In December 2005 I started learning to drive with a local driving school. The training received was that of most driving schools in Australia. Within two months I was to go for my practical driving exam. Several days before that date, while practicing with a friend, I was involved in a near fatal accident, which to this day I have no memory of. I’m told that I drove through a stop sign at an intersection and was t-boned by a council bus directly into the driver’s side door. After almost a year of rehabilitation and multiple surgeries, I began the search for a new driving school. Due to past events, I was looking for the absolute best in the industry. I saw Total Driver in the Yellow Pages and noted the experience with race driver training. After calling and talking to Gene about my accident I felt like I had found exactly what I was looking for. During my first lesson I was extremely impressed. The fear I had of returning to driving was greatly diminished with Gene’s professionalism in the subject. Before we even turned the car on we went through the details of how to correctly set up a car for driving, as well as many of the advanced techniques used in driving. The training was exceptional, and far different from what I received from a regular driving school. I wasn’t left to drive how ‘felt best for me’ and ‘as long as I can pass my exam’ was far from what was being emphasized. Rather I was taught exactly how to control a car, as well as deal with many different situations. At first it was much more difficult because I had to actually train myself to use these techniques, rather than use any method, as long as I ticked the exam boxes. I also did Total Driver’s advanced training day. This was extremely useful, as it taught me a lot about how cars act is various situations, as well as how to avoid them, both in theory and as practical training. After several months I went for my driving test, and came out with a wonderful report. I remember the examiner writing ‘good drive’, emphasized in large capital letters. In the two and a half years since that day, I’ve been driving almost every day, on almost every street, with the upmost confidence, and to this day haven’t lost a speck of paint. I’ve been able to avoid countless situations, where without the training and confidence I received at Total Driver, may have ended in a Total Mess. I would like to thank Gene, Mike and all others that make Total Driver what it is. A company devoted to being the best driver trainers possible. They put countless hours and resources into what they believe in, 7 days a week 52 weeks a year. As a student that owes so much to them, I would support any business related or otherwise involvement with Total Driver and any of their devoted staff.

On Behalf of my family I thought I would pen this letter to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for our son Daniels participation in your program.
Unfortunately, Daniel was recently involved in a major motor accident and it has since been proven that he correctly did all he could just prior to the accident. Due to having cameras in the vehicle we know exactly what happened. The benefits of knowing he was clipped by another vehicle have huge ramifications in areas such as his driving record, insurance and self confidence.
Overall the benefits of Daniels involvement in the program are immeasurable. We wish you all the very best with your business endeavours now that we have first hand experience of what young and inexperienced drivers can gain from being part of your program.

Ford Australia has utilised the services of Gene Corbett and Total Driver on a number of company customer driver day events, sales persons product training days and new vehicle launch activities in the last few years.
Our association commenced following an introduction at which Gene was fulfilling the role as a driving instructor to FPV customers.

Our most recent event conducted at Lakeside required Total Driver to co ordinate six individual dealer groups who invited current and potential customers to a Falcon, falcon Ute, and Territory Drive experience.
The program provided on track handling evaluation, off road and highway driving experiences.

The program required extensive planning and coordination and was delivered in a very professional and yet relaxed manner.
Feedback from dealerships and customers has been very encouraging with further events being requested.

Porsche Club
Porsche club Queensland has participated in both driver training and motor sports events run by Total Driver.  Driver participation is very important to the Porsche club with approximately 15 events held each year.  Total driver provides instruction to our members in safe and responsible driving.  Events have been held at mount cotton Morgan park, Queensland raceway and Darlington park.

At any event organised by total driver we have found that their attention to detail has insured that all safety standards are addressed.  These include track conditions, driver briefing, staffing levels, safety equipment and ability. 

Driver training days organised by total driver have always been professionally run providing great assistance to our members, especially novice drivers embarking on motor sport at a club level.  The competency, experience and attitude of their instructors has always been of the highest standard.

From an organizational stance, we have found total driver in particular Mr Gene Corbett able to develop a co-operative relationship with the club, where their attention to detail in providing event solutions has been exemplary.  The coordination of their personnel during an event and assistance provided has always ensured that any problems are quickly resolved delivering a smoothly run and successful event.

Bruce Lynton has employed total driver on several occasions to conduct four wheel drive driver training and customer days at various locations through Queensland. 

We have always found them to be very professional and efficient in their approach to our events.  Safety is always a major concern when different levels of abilities are tested and I have always  been impressed by their attention to this part of the program.

Dominoes began a relationship with Total Driver in early 2006. The relationship came about through Domino’s sponsorship of V8 Supercars’ driver Craig Lowndes and his Triple 8 Racing team. The sponsorship and relationship with Total Driver focuses on making Domino’s pizza delivery drivers the safest on the road.
In 2006, Total Driver is conducting safer driver courses for 40 delivery drivers in each major Australian and New Zealand market. The feedback to date from not only drivers, but also our franchisees and store managers has been extremely positive and should make the Total Driver Team proud.
It goes without saying that Total Driver has exceeded Domino’s expectations in 2006. The team are extremely easy to deal with and have made the safe driver project seem effortless.  Their support for Domino’s has been outstanding.

Drive for Drivers program coordinator

As part of our program Gene spoke to our youth group of approx 90 people for over hand an hour on driver safety.  He was interesting, funny and engaged the whole audience. The principles of safety that he talked about weren’t just old, recycled statistics and scare tactics, they there were fresh and applicable.
After the info session we all went out to the car park and the guys rand a driving show. They drove the cars, but organised our youth into “pit crews” to sit in the passenger seat and mimick a pit stop and the team work required.
It was really exciting to watch and all 90 people were able to be involved.
Our youth were really challenged by the message Total Driver presented to us, in their words and their actions. They present a strong image of safety on the road and it has been impactive and helpful for our youth.
We were really impressed with their professional approach, contemporary style and friendliness.

Total Driver has been delivering driving instruction to Refugee Students at Yeronga State High School for the last three years. With my students where English is not there first language, I require a trainer who is patient, friendly and can explain information in a wide variety of ways.

As a trainer at the High School my Get Set for Work program is outcome based on a budget. Gene works within my budget very well but more important the level of delivery has resulted in a 100% success rate with the students who have done this course with him. When you realise I do not let my students have an interpreter when going for their learners permit this is an outstanding achievement.

As a father who only has one daughter her safety is paramount with me this is why I have paid Gene to take my daughter for driving lessons. Her feedback to me is that Gene has the ability to put her at ease when she is driving and makes it a pleasurable experience.

Helensvale High School
SEU (Special Education Unit) caters for students who need extra care and have special learning requirements. One of our tasks is to assist students to be prepared to enter the work place.
One of our main challenges was driver licences. We had tried many avenues with little success until we implemented Total Drivers Learner Licence Program.
We know have students being able to pass their driving tests, many on their first attempt and students who have taken driving lessons with Total Driver have also progressed to successfully passing their driving tests.
Gene and his staff are engaging, entertaining and resourceful in not only keeping students active within the program, but also ensuring they are understanding and learning with the program.
