Sitting for the L Plates exam is the starting point. This comprises a written exam, which most people can achieve on their own, though Total Driver will offer help and tips to make the process easier.
But this is just the start, the easiest part. It is learning the road rules, a mandatory before you head out onto them. It has nothing to do with learning the art of driving – no accidents happen during an exam.
Depending upon the state, 100 or 120 hours of supervised driving experience is required before sitting for the red P Plate test. The start of learning the art of driving. There is an old saying “practice makes perfect”, but first you must know what to practice.

The primary objective of most driving schools is to prepare the student for passing the License test i.e. the art of driving is not a consideration. The basic foundations of all our driving courses. Covers the 10 most important lessons for every learner driver, from the basics to higher speeds, motorways, hinterland and rural. The program includes access to our parental support channel- teaching you how to support and prepare your teen learner driver.
45 hours for your logbook plus FREE driving test, so you will know what to expect on the day. Though not covering the full 100/120 hours, the Platinum program will set a strong foundation for The Art of Driving. Students are taken to a closed road facility and taught the skill sets and techniques of advanced drivers. These skills are then applied to real world of driving. The program includes our Parental Support channel and drivers club.
